Another award for Red Bull: Verstappen receives Fastest Lap Award

After the award for most fastest pit stops of the season, the DHL also awarded the prize for most fastest laps. It means Red Bull Racing goes home with yet another trophy, as Max Verstappen was awarded the prize.

For Red Bull Racing, it was not the first time it was supreme in fast pit stops: the team won the Fastest Pit Stop Award for the fifth time in a row. In turn, Verstappen was able to receive the Fastest Lap Award for the first time. Prior to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, he set the fastest lap five times, which was enough to win the award.

Verstappen is the first Red Bull driver to win the award since Sebastian Vettel in 2013. "I am very happy with this achievement. This has been a fantastic season for our team and I want to thank everyone who has worked so hard to achieve our goals. I am really proud of us," Verstappen said.

"DHL congratulates Max Verstappen and Oracle Red Bull Racing on their achievements during this season. In a sport where speed is everything, winning the DHL Fastest Lap Award is one of the biggest individual successes," reads the statement by Arjan Sissing, head of Global Brand Marketing at DHL. He presented the award to the two-time world champion.
