Alonso: last potential title-winning car in 2007

Fernando has said that the last time he felt he had a car that was a potential title-winner was in 2007 at McLaren, as the Spaniard explains that he's never really gotten close in the years after.

Alonso, a two-time champion with Renault, was brought to McLaren at the time to deliver the team some championships. He got close, but never delivered on those expectations. When talking about his cars in general in the F1, Alonso admits that it hasn't always been perfect.

"I think it has been up and down," RaceFans reports.

Alonso is a known critic of the way the F1 is set-up these days, as it is too boring and predictable for his liking. He took Q3 of qualifying as an example.
