As a Formula One driver, you not only have to travel and race a lot, but your calendar is also filled with media commitments. Fernando Alonso thinks there should be less press conferences and media appointments during a Formula One weekend, because it is very repetitive.
Formula One drivers have to do a press conference on Thursday and then during the weekend they are expected to go to the media after each session and sometimes before to give answers to their questions. Alonso thinks it's nonsense, especially since they have to answer the same questions so often.
"We do a press conference on Thursday, Friday, Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon, on Friday at the drivers' parade, on Sunday at the drivers' parade and on Sunday after the race. And there's really nothing to say," explained the Spaniard at Motorsport-Total.com.

'We can actually say the same thing over and over again'

The Formula One season is also almost over, with only three races remaining. Most teams are only working on the car for next year and so there is not much to say about any developments or updates when it comes to the cars. According to Alonso, the only interesting thing left is the title fight between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.

"Basically we can make the same statements for Qatar, for Jeddah and Abu Dhabi. I think the most interesting thing is the title fight with Hamilton and Verstappen. Everything else is very, very boring, very repetitive."
