Alexander Albon arrived in Barcelona after a good start to the season, in which he has scored two points finishes so far. In the Spanish Grand Prix, things did not look as good: he started the race in eighteenth position and finished the race in the same place.
In his own words, the Williams driver would have preferred to make "six or seven" pit stops during the race. "I picked up damage to the floor after my first stop which heavily impacted the car’s performance," he told Formula1.com. Especially in the corners, he struggled with speed after this.

The tires also didn't seem to work well under the Williams car. "It’s unfortunate, as it meant we didn’t really stand a chance today," the Thai driver continued, adding that he could have used some extra pit stops. "If I could, I would have done six or seven pit stops."
He then presses Williams to find out where the problems came from. "My tyres were gone after one lap," Albon concludes. He, therefore, stresses the need to "find out what happened" that the grip disappeared so quickly.
