Albon regards working alongside Verstappen as an "opportunity to learn"

Alex Albon joined Aston Martin Red Bull Racing from Toro Rosso midway through the season but the 23-year-old has admitted that he's enjoying the chance to drive alongside someone like Max Verstappen in the team.

“Everyone knows who Max is and that he is fast. What better way to learn and prepare than a teammate who is one of the fastest drivers on the grid," Albon told Red Bull.

"That is a good thing and a goal to strive for. He has been driving for the team for many years and knows how to get the best out of it, for me that is still a learning process.

"I have to be aware that this was my first year in Formula 1 and that I have only been with the team for half a year, but the goal is to close the gap between Max and me. I want to participate in the front next year!"

On the whole, it was a positive year for the youngster, as he accumulated 92 points across the season.
