Alexander Albon may officially be in action at the Singapore Grand Prix. The Thai is said to have passed the FIA 's medical test.
Albon had to miss out on the Italian Grand Prix due to appendicitis. The Williams driver suffered greatly and was hospitalised. Given the severity of the GP in Singapore, it was long in doubt whether Albon would make it, but at least he is starting his weekend.

Albon can race

Andreas Haupt, of Auto, Motor und Sport, reports on his Twitter that Albon has just received clearance from the FIA doctors. The former Red Bull pupil is thus fit enough to be in action during the first free practice session, but the situation will logically be monitored throughout the weekend.

In Italy, Nyck de Vries successfully stepped in as a replacement and scored two points in his F1 debut. The Dutchman has prepared himself for Singapore and is fit enough to race if needed. So should Albon still suffer too much, Mercedes' reserve driver could jump back into the car in no time.
