The Spanish Grand Prix may no longer be held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya from 2027. According to Spanish newspaper Marca, negotiations between the FOM and Madrid are going crescendo.
According to the medium, Madrid Mayor José Luis Martinez-Almeida, for instance, is said to have expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the talks, although it is difficult to say when the deal will finally come through. Formula 1 will presumably race on the streets surrounding the IFEMA fair in the Spanish capital.

Does this mean the end of Barcelona?

It is not yet entirely clear whether the arrival of the Madrid Grand Prix would also mean a definitive end to racing in Catalonia. It is not logical that two Grands Prix will be held in Spain in one season, but a possible collaboration between the two venues is not yet off the table. This would allow both organisations to host a race every other year.
