24 hours from Le Mans continues: ''We can also race in October or November''

The 24 hours of Le Mans could be moved by the coronavirus until deep in October or November. How the organisation hopes to achieve this, however, remains to be seen.

Because of the coronavirus, not only Formula 1, but everything in terms of motorsport has come to a standstill. The 24 hours of Le Mans has already been postponed to 19 and 20 September, but according to Motorsport.com there are also possibilities to do this in October or November and racing without an audience is also an option in France.

''If the authorities tell us that September is going to be impossible, this event can also take place in October or even November. We will definitely do that,'' says ACO President Pierre Fillon. ''Le Mans is a mainstay of your sport and you really need to want to protect it," says FIA WEC CEO Gerard Neveu.

The long-distance race will be held anyway, but the form is not yet clear. ''Nobody knows what will happen in September and with the Tour de France and Rolland Garros there are still two huge events to be held in France," concludes Fillon, who is still trying to keep all options open.
