'I think Marko understands that there should be an experienced man next to Max'

According to Giedo van der Garde, Sergio Perez should drive alongside Max Verstappen for Red Bull in 2021. According to the former F1 driver, Perez is the ideal candidate to help Red Bull Racing in the fight with Mercedes for the title.

"I think he is a good teammate for Max," van der Garde tells Ziggo Sport. "I think Marko also sees the need for an experienced guy next to Max, who can score a lot of points, who is fast, who can come along."

"They will finish the season this way and then hopefully it will happen," concludes van der Garde. Robert Doornbos agrees with van der Garde: "I think at Perez has everything at the moment. He has scored 650 points, he has shown that he is fast and has a mega budget behind him."
