Ahead of a potential move for Robert Kubica to become Racing Point's reserve driver in the upcoming season, the team's owner Lawrence Stroll has praised the Pole's fighting spirit to come back from his gruesome injury at the start of the decade.
Kubica is left without a seat on the F1 grid already after coming back to the sport at the start of this year, driving for Williams in 2019 after eight seasons of absence from the sport.
Although his comeback year didn't go to plan, scoring Williams' only point of the season while being out-qualified 21-0 by rookie teammate George Russell, Kubica is eager to keep involved on the grid. Many teams have been rumoured to be interested in the services of the Grand Prix winner as a reserve driver, one of which being Racing Point.
“He doesn’t let failure bring him down,” the team's owner Lawrence Stroll was quoted as saying by Sport.pl when speaking on Kubica's comeback. In 2011, he suffered a horrifying accident while rallying, after which he needed almost 30 operations. Still, his right arm hasn't fully healed, something which has impacted him as a driver.
“He falls but gets up. In sports and in life, I have not seen someone who is so determined, such a fighter," Stroll concluded.

With the likes of Alfa Romeo and Haas also looking for the Pole's signature, Stroll's team will have fierce competition to tie down Kubica, who will race in DTM for BMW.
