Fermin Aldeguer's physiotherapist explained they are fighting to have the Spaniard ready for the opening round of the season in Thailand.
The Spanish rider from Murcia was injured earlier this month. In a training session, he suffered a broken femur.
"The femur surgery was successfully completed," read an official statement from Aldeguer's team, Gresini Racing, on X. "Now it's time to rest. We will provide more information in the coming days."
Aldeguer's physiotherapist, Aitor Tomas, explained that there is a chance the rider could be ready for the first round of the season, which is set to be held in Thailand on 1 March.
However, he ruled out the Spaniard's participation during the pre-season tests.

He told L'Esportiu: "We will fight for him to be in the first MotoGP race. The physiotherapist does not dictate; he accompanies the rider so that he feels better day by day, increasingly confident.
The physiotherapist explained that KTM rider Pedro Acosta had a similar injury, and was able to return within 15 days. However, that does not necessarily mean Aldeguer would be able to do the same.
"Does this mean that Fermin will do the same? No, because even if it was exactly the same injury, with the same elements and the same environment, each body reacts differently.
"In addition, Aldeguer's is a little more complex," he concluded.
