Due to severe weather conditions in Imola, there had been talk of a possible cancelled or shortened weekend all weekend. For instance, personnel could not go to the track for days, the F2 paddock could not yet be built and many images of overrun streets in Imola appeared. That F1 decided to cancel the weekend is therefore not surprising.
