Verstappen obtains Nordschleife permit to race in GT3

The four-time world champion arrived at the Nordschleife weekend with the primary goal of securing the A permit, which would allow him to take part in GT3 class with the Ferrari 296 of the Emily Frey Racing team.
Today, the Red Bull driver competed in a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 CS, also sporting the Verstappen.com livery.

The Dutchman therefore completed the necessary mileage behind the wheel of car #980 before handing over to Lulham for the final stint of the race.
Verstappen will therefore have the opportunity to compete in the GT3 class with Emily Frey Racing in two weeks, but, most importantly, to take part in next year’s 24 Hours of Nürburgring, a goal he has long declared.

In addition to the Drivers’ and Constructors’ standings, the super license penalty points chart also saw significant changes in Monza, with Oliver Bearman now very close to a one-race suspension before the end of the season.
The young British driver was involved in a collision with Carlos Sainz, which the FIA deemed Bearman responsible for, handing him two additional points on his license as well as a ten-second race penalty.
Carlos Sainz, instead, had been handed a ten-second penalty and two penalty points at Zandvoort for, according to the stewards, causing the incident with Liam Lawson after the two made contact at Turn 1.
The Spaniard still had the ten-second penalty upheld, but at least had the two penalty points restored.
