F1 LIVE | Verstappen and Wolff meeting confirmed, Horner no longer a director at Red Bull

Before, it was rumoured that Max Verstappen and Toto Wolff met in Sardinia, Italy ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix.

At the time, those news were only rumours, an actual meeting did not take place.

Yesterday, the defending world champion and the Mercedes CEO and team principal did meet in Italy, GPblog could confirm. That is after paparazzi photos were shared of the two.

Wolff and Verstappen maintain a good relationship having known each other for a long time, and it's not surprising that they spend time together if they happen to be at the same place.

Talking to a selected group of media, including GPblog, team representative Bradley Lord named an advantage the Germans have heading into 2026.

This upcoming year, a regulation change will take place in F1, and Mercedes will supply the most power units on the grid.

Next year, Mercedes will have three customer teams: McLaren, Williams, and Alpine will replace Aston Martin on this list, after the Silverstone-based team chose to work together with Honda.
