F1 LIVE | FP3 for the 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

The final free practice session of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix gets underway. The teams will spend a final hour preparing for qualifying later on Saturday and Sunday's race. With the GPBlog liveblog, you won't miss any of the on-track action.

Friday's practice sessions showed an interesting interplay between the top three teams. Although the teams were quite close on the long runs, Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen was particularly fast over one lap. Judging from Friday, pole position is likely to go to the Dutchman, but anything could happen.

In the third free practice session, not many runs are expected from Red Bull beforehand. Indeed, team advisor Helmut Marko already indicated that due to the heat at the time of FP3, the data is not very representative. Instead, Verstappen would want to use this session in Abu Dhabi to save a set of tyres. The reason Marko gave shows why qualifying runs were already frequent during FP2 on Friday.
