Verstappen: "It's a pity for the fans"

"It's a pity for the fans," said the Dutchman on Verstappen.nl. However, the 23-year-old understands that the FIA could not give the drivers permission to drive the German track in the harsh weather. "At last they are allowing fans in and then it's a shame we can't drive. But we have to accept that the medical helicopter cannot fly in these conditions."

It is unclear what the rest of the weekend is going to look like, but Verstappen said earlier on Sky Sports that he didn't mind that things were going a bit differently than usual. On his own website the nine-time Grand Prix winner explained some more of expectations for the rest of the weekend.

"It's hard that it's so cold, that makes it hard to get the tyres to work properly. I think tomorrow will be a bit better, worse than today is almost impossible and we'll see what happens," concluded Verstappen.
