Only a few teams faster in qualifying compared to testing

The season has started and how! Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton provided the spectacle. With that we say goodbye to the circuit in Bahrain, track where the tests took place before the start of the season.

Hamilton beat Verstappen but only just during the Bahrain Grand Prix. In qualifying it was the Dutchman who took a lead by four tenths. We've taken a look back at how the teams performed in qualifying and during the test days.

Remarkably, only three teams were faster during qualifying. Mercedes, McLaren and Alpine improved their times compared to what they showed during the test days. Mercedes took six tenths during qualifying. McLaren just over two tenths and Alpine accelerated by one tenth.

All other teams were faster on the test days than during qualifying. It promises to be something. The next race weekend takes place on April 16 in Imola.
