Hulkenberg has no idea where he stands: Red Bull call him a 'candidate'

It is still unclear who will get the second Red Bull seat next year. It's likely to be between Nico Hulkenberg, Sergio Perez and Alex Albon. Helmut Marko and Hulkenberg have given a short update themselves after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

"Nico is a candidate," says Marko at Motorsport-Total.com, among others. Earlier, the Austrian adviser indicated that a decision will be made before Christmas.

Hulkenberg says he cannot report any news to the German branch of RTL. About the current state of affairs, he says. "It is difficult to assess the situation. Perez has done very well in the last race," said the German driver.

Hulkenberg further states that he waits patiently and that he is relaxed and realistic about it. The former driver of Force India and Renault, among others, concludes by saying he expects a quick decision from the Red Bull management.
