Hamilton wins council tussle in battle with neighbours

Hamilton owns a house worth eighteen million pounds in the upscale Kensington and Chelsea neighbourhood. Neighbours of the seven-time world champion believe that Hamilton would "destroy nature" if the tree in front of his house is removed. This is because it is in a protected area and so the tree cannot be cut down just like that.

From the Local Democracy Reporting Service, residents further state that "these trees have been there for over a hundred years and are part of a beautiful landscape legacy in this precious nature reserve". There were also concerns that even more trees would be cut down in the area so that more buildings could take place.

Hamilton came up with a report from a tree surgeon in this legal battle, stating that the tree was as good as dead anyway. This convinced the council, who did decide that Hamilton should plant a new magnolia tree.
