The final free practice for qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix is over In a wet session, Max Verstappen finished on top with the fastest time. Ferrari seem to be fairly quick, with Leclerc on P2, over two tenths behind Verstappen. Alonso is closing in on third place, although he is more than a second slower than the Dutchman.

The third free practice session was very wet. Carlos Sainz went off rock-hard halfway through the session, causing a red flag. Verstappen improved time and time again after the restart. Later in the session, Leclerc came back, but it was not enough to grab the first time. In the last few minutes, it rained so hard that no one dared to go on the track.
