Mattia Binotto has a difficult job at the moment. The Italian is steering a badly running Ferrari. Next year Carlos Sainz will join the team and the team boss is still happy with that.
The Formula 1 circus prepares for a weekend in Russia after returning from a double meeting in Italy. In Ferrari's home races, the Binotto team once again fell through the cracks. The Italians are looking cautiously forward to next year when Sainz joins the team. Binotto is happy with the Spaniard.."
To Formula 1, the team boss talks about the upcoming acquisition: "I am very excited. We have made our choice and I think it is the right one. I’m very pleased with Carlos joining the team, very pleased with our line-up."

Future of Ferrari

At Ferrari, Binotto looks beyond just this year and next year. The team boss wants to lay a good foundation and that requires two good drivers: "We’re looking not only for a victory, but for a long cycle, creating solid foundations, and when you’re trying to create solid foundations and basing it on a young team, not only engineers, technicians but drivers, it’s the choice", concludes the Italian.
