Lance Stroll will, in principle, no longer take part in the Barcelona pre-season test. GPblog understands that Aston Martin intends to have Fernando Alonso test throughout Friday.
For Stroll, it turned into a very short test week in Spain. The Canadian reportedly completed only five laps at a moderate pace on Thursday afternoon. That was the first time the AMR26 hit the track this year.
After this brief session, Stroll said he was happy to have driven again. He said a day ago: "Yes, it felt good, nice to be back in the car after a few weeks off. Everyone did a good job at getting the car ready."
"It was a long day for all the mechanics and everyone on the team, pushing flat out to get the car ready. So we got a few laps in at the end of the day and it was feeling good."

Alonso had to wait a long for his first laps in 2026

Fernando Alonso did not run on Thursday. The Spaniard completed his first laps on Friday morning. He did so in a car designed by Adrian Newey, which arrived in Spain later than the competition. The exact reason for this delay was not disclosed.
