Nico Hulkenberg brought out the second red flag of the day after stopping on track during the Bahrain afternoon session.
The German was spotted stopped just before the penultimate corner, but managed to restart the car and bring it back to the pits, allowing the session to resume shortly afterwards.
The cause of the technical issue is still unclear, with Audi once again dealing with a few early teething problems following the setbacks encountered during the behind-closed-doors Barcelona test.
Prior to the stoppage, Nico Hulkenberg had gone ninth fastest, just ahead of teammate Gabriel Bortoleto, who ran in the morning session and logged 49 laps compared to the German’s 13.
