Williams will officially miss their first scheduled run of the new FW42 because the car is not yet complete.
Yesterday, Williams launched their new car, along with a new title sponsor, logo and livery. On Saturday, they were due to drive the car, but that plan has now been scrapped.
“As anyone would expect, we have had an extremely aggressive engineering programme over the winter,” said deputy team principal Claire Williams on RaceFans.
“As such, we have taken the decision not to run our car during our filming day this weekend in order to allow the team to maximise the time at the factory before we head to Barcelona for the first day of the test on February 18th.”
Mercedes, their engine supplier, will launch their car today, alongside Red Bull and Racing Point. Follow the updates on our liveblog.
