The Bahrain Grand Prix has been postponed as a result of the coronavirus outbreak. The Vietnam Grand Prix is also postponed. The race in Bahrain was due to take place on March 22 behind closed doors after measures were already taken to reduce the risk of the spread.
The race in Bahrain will not go ahead at all. This comes after the Australian Grand Prix, which due to take place this weekend, was cancelled at the last minute. A team member from McLaren had tested positive for the virus.
Following this, anyone who was in contact with the person would need to self-isolate for 14 days according to regulations. This would put them out of contention for the race in Bahrain.
Formula 1 was set to make its debut in Vietnam with a brand new street circuit being prepared. This has now been pushed back. While Max Verstappen's inaugural home race will also be postponed due to the coronavirus.
It's looking likely that the 2020 F1 cars will not be on the track until at least the end of May.
