Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris have reacted to their dramatic crash that led to Norris’s retirement in the final laps of the Canadian GP.
Everyone expected a clash between the two McLaren drivers sooner or later, and that moment came just recently. Lando Norris attempted a rather risky overtake on Oscar Piastri in the final stages of the Canadian GP, ultimately forcing him to park his MCL-39 and retire from the race.
A paradoxical incident that strengthens Piastri’s status in the drivers’ championship, with the Australian gaining a valuable 15 points over his teammate. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen closes the gap to Norris significantly by finishing second behind race winner Russell.

Looking back at the final laps, the two McLaren drivers chose not to blame each other, with Norris accepting responsibility for the incident

''It was a hard battle for sure, but a clean one'', Piastri said via ViaPlay.
''Lando tried a big move into Turn 10, managed to get back alongside. Obviously, with the slipstream, that made things a little bit tough going into the chicane, But I held my ground and just pulled it up for the point. And yeah, I'm not seeing what happened''.
''I obviously got a bit of a touch, but yeah, I don't know anything more than that at the moment''.
''I misjudged'', Norris added. ''I risked DNF for both myself and for Oscar, which is the last thing I can possibly want to do. I can do nothing but apologise to my team and to Oscar''.
