The FIA has announced its list of amendments to the International Sporting Code at the General Assembly hosted in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, with two changes concerning the stewards.
Moving forward, stewards can decide to re-examine incidents at their own request in FIA World Championships, and in Formula 2 and Formula 3, instead of only doing so after a so-called 'right of review.'
Similarly to that situation, they can start doing that on their own initiative after "discovering significant and significant and relevant new element which was unavailable to them at the time of their decision."
In addition, an Out-of-Competition Stewards Panel was formed. Its goal is to "allow the FIA to address alleged breaches occurring outside an Event, in time-sensitive situations, in matters not directly affecting an ongoing Event, or in cases involving multiple Events."
Stewards present at an event can also delegate a decision to the aforementioned panel.

It was also announced that Ben Sulayem was re-elected for another term as President in Uzbekistan after running unopposed in the election.
Tonight, the FIA Gala will also take place in Tashkent. McLaren is already on its way to the ceremony, after Lando Norris won the World Drivers' Championship at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, while the team had previously won the World Constructors' Championship in Singapore.
GPblog could previously confirm that Max Verstappen will miss the event for the first time in years due to illness.
