F1 Full Results: Piastri dominates early on in Belgium, Verstappen P2

So far this campaign, no driver has topped the practice session and ended up claiming pole position for the Sprint, but the McLaren driver hopes to change that later today.

Max Verstappen led early at Spa, while Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc struggled for grip, with Hamilton nearly losing it at Eau Rouge. Piastri briefly topped the timesheets on hard tyres, going half a second quicker than Verstappen despite the compound disadvantage.

Before the drivers switched to the soft tyres for their qualifying runs, Leclerc led the session. However, once the soft tyres were fitted, the Australian blew the competition away, finishing four tenths ahead of Verstappen, and half a second ahead his teammate.
